Changes in prices calculated based on harmonised index of consumer prices April 2026

In April 2026, according to the harmonised index of consumer prices (HICP), which is methodologically harmonised with those of other EU member states, the calculated: average annual inflation stood at 3.6 per cent, average annual inflation calculated based on the Consumer Price Index (CPI) stood at 3.9 per cent; annual inflation (April 2026, against April 2025) stood at 4.9 per cent, the CPI-based one – 5.3 per cent. Annual inflation calculated based on the HICP was mainly influenced by an increase in prices recorded for diesel, petrol, heat energy, maintenance and repair of personal transport equipment , services of restaurants, cafes and the like, cigarettes, other fuels for personal transport equipment, meat, spirits and liquors, package holidays, beer, plants, seeds and flowers, outpatient curative and rehabilitative services, as well as by a decrease in prices observed for second-hand motor cars, equipment for the reception, recording and reproduction of sound and vision, potatoes, electricity. change in prices for consumer goods and services in April 2026, compared to March, stood at 0.7 per cent, the CPI-based one – at 0.6 per cent.
