Changes in prices calculated based on harmonised index of consumer prices January 2026

In January 2026, according to the harmonised index of consumer prices (HICP), which is methodologically harmonised with those of other EU member states, the calculated: average annual inflation stood at 3.4 per cent, average annual inflation calculated based on the Consumer Price Index (CPI) stood at 3.7 per cent; annual inflation (January 2026, against January 2025) stood at 2.8 per cent, the CPI-based one – 3.1 per cent.
