The organization is the primary administrator of the national registers. Its main activity is the registration of register objects and the provision of data. The register system is based on 6 main state registers: Juridinių asmenų registras (JAR), Gyventojų registras (GIR), Nekilnojamojo turto registras ir kadastras, Adresų registras (AR), Įgaliojimų registras (ĮR). In total the organization manages 10 registers and more than a dozen state information systems. In addition to providing public services, the organization also conducts commercial activities: it issues qualified energy performance certificates, performs individual real estate valuation and cadastral measurements.
