The organization maintains the inland waterways of national importance of the Republic of Lithuania, seeks to ensure the quantitative and qualitative parameters of inland waterways and the duration of navigation on the sections of inland waterways it operates, and develops inland waterways and their infrastructure for the transport of passengers and cargo. It develops cargo, industrial and passenger shipping on inland waterways.
