The organization supervises and controls the activities in the Republic of Lithuania of entities organizing gambling, major lotteries and games played on gaming machines. It issues licenses to organize gambling and major lotteries and suspends or revokes their validity. It issues permits to open gaming machine or bingo halls and gambling houses (casinos), and supplements, amends or revokes those permits. It authorizes the establishment of totalizator and betting points and revokes permits to establish totalizator and betting points. It maintains Lietuvos lošimo įrenginių registrą; issues gaming machine passports, seals and special gaming machine marks, and records gaming machines in the gaming machine list. It prepares draft legal acts regulating the organization of gambling, games on gaming machines and lotteries. It monitors how organizers of gambling, games on gaming machines and major lotteries comply with the requirements of laws and other legal acts regulating the organization of gambling, games on gaming machines and lotteries. It receives requests from persons who have come directly to the organization to be prohibited from gambling and from participating in remote gambling and registers them in the Apribojusių savo galimybę lošti registro asmenų duomenų bazę, and manages the data of persons who have submitted requests to be prohibited from gambling.
