The organization is an institution under the Ministry of Education, Science and Sport of the Republic of Lithuania, established in 2019. It participates in implementing Lithuanian early childhood, pre-primary and general education policy. It contributes to ensuring the quality of education, provides information, consultative, professional development and educational support, conducts education monitoring and educational research, develops educational content and coordinates its implementation, and organizes and administers student achievement assessments, maturity and other examinations.
